Ladies and gentlemen,
Good evening!
As we know, many Northern Queenslanders are suffering the loss caused by the worst flooding in decades.
Firstly, on behalf of the Consulate-General of China, I'd like to take the opportunity to extend our sincere sympathy and best wishes to all the victims. I believe that they will overcome the difficulties, resume normal life and rebuild a beautiful home soon.
Today we are gathered here to celebrate the Chinese New Year, the year of the Pig. I'd like to thank MCC for organizing such a wonderful event, pushing China's New Year celebration to a new high.
Under Jeannie's leadership, MCC has been committed to promoting multiculturalism, helping  people of all ethnic groups better integrate into the local community. Chinese New Year Night Market, Technicolour  Festival and other activities have become brand projects, won wide participation and appreciation from all walks of life, and received support from Queensland government and other sectors.
You may notice that the Night Market has exhibitions of Chinese food, clothing, handicrafts and artist performance, and products of other ethnic groups as well. It showcases the unique charm of Chinese culture, and the beauty of multiculturalism of Queensland. I believe we will all enjoy the night.
Finally, I wish you and your family all the best in the Chinese New Year!
Thank you all!
