Good evening!

It is a great pleasure to attend the 2019'Beautiful China where Culture Shines' Oceania promotion event.  As the spring is returning, here comes the Chinese tourism delegation by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China. On behalf of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, I would like to extend our warm welcome to the delegation. My thanks goes to all guests present tonight for your support to and participation in building a friendly and productive China-Queensland relations.

I am glad that with our joint efforts, China-Queensland tourism cooperation has been rewarded with remarkable achievements. China has been the largest source of international tourists for Queensland, with more than 500,000 tourists coming to Queensland last year alone, and a consumption of more than AUD 1.3 billion. There are still great potentials, given the abundant tourism resources we both have, and growing tourism demand and continuous improvement of tourism facilities on both sides. We welcome more Queenslanders to visit China, to enjoy different scenery and different cultures, and experience the same warmth and hospitality you may enjoy here in Queensland.

One cannot imagine a complete and sustainable bilateral relations without an extensive and close people to people exchanges. And tourism is one of the best ways to achieve that. I wish the event a full success, and you all have a enjoyable evening. Thank you all.
