Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good evening!

Firstly, I would like to, on behalf of the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China, as well as in my own name, extend my best wishes and greetings to you all.

As we are aware that, after the outbreak of disease in Wuhan, the Chinese government and the Chinese people are taking every effort in combating it. China had built an all-round and multi-layered prevention and control system. We also maintain close cooperation with the WHO, sharing the epidemic information in an open and transparent way.

These days, Australia and Queensland government as well as its people, have come forward to offer their support and sympathy. I noticed that ACBC will organize fundraising tonight to help Wuhan. I wish to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to you all. We are fully confident and have the ability to get the outbreak under control soon and eventually overcome the epidemic.

In the past years, ACBC and its members have made great contributions to strengthening economic and trade ties between China and Australia, as well as enhancing mutual understanding between our two peoples. I hereby would like to express my gratitude to Mr. David Olsson, Mr. Stephen Abbott, and your team, for the leadership in making it happen. Consulate-General will continue to work closely with ACBC and provide our strong support and facilitation to business development and cooperation between our two countries.

Finally, I would like to thank you all again for your continued support of China, especially at this time. Wishing you all a healthy, happy, prosperous Chinese new year and enjoy your night.

Thank you!
